A Great Alternative for Senior Housing

Monday, July 12, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team
http://nextdoorgarageapartments.com/I can't believe what a great alternative that Next Door Garage Apartments offers, when compared to all of the other things I have been considering.  My husband and I are getting older, but we're not really ready for the nursing home.  Our kids have offered numerous times to build a mother-in-law apartment, or to do some kind of home addition, but it's just so expensive.  Neither of us want to pay that much and I couldn't handle my kids spending that much on us. Plus, what are they going to do with it when we're gone?

That's why my husband and I got excited when our neighbor told us about Next Door Garage Apartments.  They can build us a temporary place inside of the two car garage that my kids have. It's quick and easy; in fact, they can have it built in ten days.

What really sold us on converting the garage into an apartment was that it can be quickly and easily removed so our kids won't have to feel like we're a burden long after we're gone. We also really like how nice they look.  They're well designed and there are no stairs.  This is a great option for senior parents living with children.  We called three days ago and we're planning on moving in within the week. It'll be nice to be closer so that if anything happens to either of us, we'll have help close by. We feel that with this alternative, we'll be able to have our independence which we'd like to hold on to as long as we can.  Contact Next Door Garage Apartments for more information on this affordable senior housing option.

Alternative Senior Living: Convert Your Garage to a Senior Apartment Home

Friday, July 9, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team

Alternative Senior Living If you have elderly parents at home, you may be asking yourself the question of whether it is best for them to stay at home with you, or if they are better off in a retirement community. There are, however, some alternative senior living solutions which are available to you.

Many seniors may feel bad about living with their adult children, as they feel that they are a being a burden to them. However, they often do appreciate being close to their loved ones, and would much rather stay close to their family than being sent off to a nursing home to be cared for by complete strangers.

Some people have considered adding a room to their house to make more living space for their parents which are living with them. However, not everyone has the time and money to take on such an important home remodeling project, which would often take several weeks to complete and can cost a lot of money. There is always the possibility to remodel a garage and turn it into a private living space for your parents. A two car garage can be perfectly remodeled into an additional apartment in your home, complete with bathroom, dining room, bedroom and kitchen.

Next Door Garage Apartments can turn your garage into a living space in less than 10 days and for a flat fee of $35 000. To request more information about what they can do for you, fill out the contact form.

Garage Remodeling Ideas: How About an Apartment?

Tuesday, June 1, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team

Garage Remodeling Ideas Home remodeling additions are rarely as important as those described at Next Door Garage Apartments or NDGA. This service  remodels a garage in a way that helps families keep elderly parents at home. Before NDGA, this noble idea didn’t exist (patent-pending). This new, easy housing system helps everyone be comfortable. Parents won’t feel like a burden, and children won’t feel like they’ve stolen freedom from an elderly parent.

Many children want to keep elderly parents out of nursing homes and retirement communities and closer to family. NDGA makes this possible by converting two car garages into modular living units so that elderly parents can live right next door to their children. It helps everyone maintain their independence and privacy and gives mom or dad the ability to receive care from children only when they need it.

The remodeling costs a flat $35,000 and the conversion takes only 10 days to complete. The unit can be converted back to a garage later on, if other arrangements need to be made. This new way of helping elderly parents continue to lead productive, independent lives is the perfect way to live near a parent without having to live with them. They’ll love the arrangement, too, when they see how beautiful their new home looks.

For more information, contact NDGA. You can ask them any questions you may have about NDGA or the services they offer. They look forward to hearing from you and answering all of your questions.

A New Option For An Elderly Parent To Live With You Instead of A Room Additions

Saturday, May 29, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team

Home additions ideas don’t come more meaningful than the one outlined at Next Door Garage Apartments. This isn’t an outline of how to perform garage conversion into a room. It’s the blueprint for the rest of your elderly family members’ lives.

Home Renovations Additions Housing options for the elderly are few. Once parents become too old to take care of themselves, the option always results in a loss of personal freedom for parents. They have until now been forced to choose between living with adult children or living in a nursing home, assisted living or a retirement home. All three place the elderly in the difficult position of being away from family and losing the personal freedom that comes with owning one’s own domain.

Next Door Garage Apartments has devised a way for parents and children to live together but separately. Their plan is a comfortable renovation of a two-car garage that allows elderly parents to live comfortably beside adult children without having to live with them. Children retain their personal space while elderly parents gain a home of their own to furnish as they see fit. It’s the perfect blend of freedom for families that has until now eluded them. Independent senior living just got easier for parents and children.

If you have elderly parents who might soon need to face the difficult decision of moving to a new place, find the answer to your problems.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact Next Door Garage Apartments. They are eager to share this new senior living option with adult children who love their elderly parents very much and want to give them the happiest life possible.

The Mother-In-Law's Home

Friday, May 28, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team
When we decided to move out of state, we agonized over leaving my mother-in-law behind. Our young children were used to spending lots of time with Grandma and the bonds the three of them shared made them like a family within a family. At my mother-in-law age, we would soon be taking care of our elderly parents; they needed to be close. The decision was made for my husband and kids and me to move first and then send for Grandma when we found a suitable place that would house all of us.
http://www.nextdoorgarageapartments.com/
My mother-in-law wqs still very independent. Betty loved to cook and would have to have her own kitchen. She really deserved to have her own living room and bath. The laundry room could be shared. We looked for several months and could not find a place with enough space to keep our elderly parent at home. We could find big houses, but renovations would take too long and be cost prohibitive. We looked through books and magazines for home addition ideas, but came up cold.

I just now stumbled across this company called Next Door Garage Apartments. For $35, 000 they will install a very tasteful apartment in your two car garage. This little house is so nice inside that I had no idea it was a garage. Best of all, it only takes them 10 days to complete and comes complete with handicap accessible bathroom. When the apartment is no longer needed, they will come take it all away and you have your garage back. What a perfect housing option for the elderly! I sure wish this had been around when we were wasting lots of time looking for the perfect place to suit our family‘s needs.

Taking Care of Older ParentsIf you're having to focus on taking care of elderly parents, you may be wondering about your options for care. Hiring a live in or visiting caretaker can be very expensive, as can senior housing independent living communities. Nursing homes and other full care facilities may not be right for your parents, especially if they are still mostly independent and simply need someone to assist with chores or check on them every day. You may have considered asking them to move into your home, but this can be a strain and not all homes have enough free space for relatives to move in.

If taking care of them yourself is the best choice, consider having your two car garage converted into a fully equipped apartment. Next Door Garage Apartments can build a wonderful apartment in your two car garage in under 10 days, including a full kitchen and bathroom. Taking care of olders parents is often a challenge because they feel like they are a burden on you, and have trouble coping with losing their Independence. Think about how much better they'll feel when they move into a separate apartment that just happens to be adjacent to your house.

When your elderly parents are enjoying their independence and the fact they can spend plenty of time with you and the family, you will also have the peace of mind of being able to help them and offer care. With the high cost of assisted living facilities or more complicated home additions, the garage apartment idea saves both money and time. You'll also keep your home and your privacy, while still having your elderly parents close at hand. Learn more about Next Door Garage Apartments as a way to care for elderly parents.

Home Additions Ideas to Help Grandma and Grandpa

Wednesday, April 28, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team

Home Addition Ideas As the baby boomer generation grows older, the number of them seeking for housing options for disabled and elderly parents increases, as well. Many companies are hoping to help you come up with the right situation for your senior parents, friends, or neighbors. Some of the help you can receive include instructions for remodeling a garage or other room, finding the right special needs housing, and teaching families how to deal with elderly parents moving in.

One of the most effective and cost efficient ways of providing living space for the elderly in your home is to come up with the right home addition idea. Home additions can be costly, but don't have to be if planned properly. By adding a single bedroom onto the side of your home, you will not only be increasing the value of your home but you will also be providing a needed member of your family with the warmth and comfort of decent living. Many contractors are looking for work to keep them busy, and now is a great time to add on because they are more willing to give discounts and deals during a down economy.

Along with the addition of a new room, the remodeling of a garage or other room in your house is an excellent idea to provide living space for the elderly. This is an easy process that can take less than ten days, and when you no longer have your visitor in your home, the process of flipping back to the original is simple. Cost of Home Additions are a Budget Breaker

Monday, April 12, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team
http://www.nextdoorgarageapartments.com/homeIn the midst of a rough global economy, when dollars are tight and cents are pinched, there are very few, reasonably priced options for adding room to your home.

The cost of hiring a contractor comes with fees that don't even cover the actual purchase of materials and building services—things like sub-contracting, project managing, and other middleman costs.  Even if you're a real gung-ho handyman, do-it-yourself home additions are costly and even risky as the new structure must exactly match the original structure. Plus, additions often raise the taxes on your home, amongst many other costs like insurance, equipment rental, and so much more.

You don't have the time, energy, skill, and most importantly, the budget to hire a contractor or risk doing home additions yourself. And you need more room—now.

It's going to be especially tough when your situation becomes an emergency.  What would you do if one of your parents suddenly passes on and your remaining parent is in desperate need of your support?

The good news to all of this trouble? Next Door Garage Apartments (NDGA).

NDGA offers solutions for alternative adult care, disabled adult housing, and rental options by converting your garage quickly and easily in just ten days, for a flat fee of $35,000 with no hidden middle-management costs.  So why go through all the hassle of hiring a contractor or trying to do it yourself?  Check out Next Door Garage Apartments right now - contact us today for your garage to room conversion solution.

Convert Your Garage into Independent Housing for Your Loved One

Friday, April 9, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team
Taking care of elderly parents or disabled relatives is something few family members plan for, but many end up doing.  While there are many housing options for the disabled and elderly, few people want their relatives to feel forced into public housing, or a retirement center.

There is a solution, though; Next Door Garage Apartments will convert your garage into an independent home in ten days, and the cost of traditional home additions far outweighs the one-time, flat-fee of $35,000.

Turning your garage into an apartment for an elderly or disabled family member covers all of your bases.  Your relative need not feel like they are an imposition, as living under the same roof can be uncomfortable for everyone; your converted garage is his or her own, independent, home.  Being so close, you can visit any time, and check on them whenever you like, without waiting for visiting hours or imposing on their private life.  The conditions are perfect for one person, and all you need to supply are personal effects and furniture. The room can be easily converted back into a garage at any time, should conditions or needs change.

Every converted garage has an entryway, living room, dining room, and bedroom, along with a kitchen with full amenities.  Disabled adult housing is also available for the same, low price – handi-capable conversion is covered in the low price. Traditional disabled housing solutions can quickly add-up, and $35,000 is a bargain for most income ranges.

Solution For My Mother

Monday, April 5, 2010 by Next Door Garage Apartments Web Team
My mom is a divorcee and lives alone.  My husband and I moved closer so that we could help take care of her house, yard and other needs.  Although she lived closer, we were still still an hour and a half away.  We hadn't been able to assist her in the way we originally wanted.  We constantly worried about her being alone.  Since we didn't want to uproot our jobs and kids, we began looking for alternative solutions.  We considered a mother-in-law apartment, but the cost of home additions right now is way too high.  Also, she is not ready for senior living housing or even for senior independent living.

The best option that we encountered was through Next Door Garage Apartments.  They can put up a modular, temporary unit for my mom, inside of our garage.  It only costs $35,000 to remodel the garage, and can be done within ten days.  Next Door Garage Apartments is easy to contact and will answer any questions you might have about this affordable senior housing option.
